vegetable tunnel farming

Toba Tek Singh.Ninty percent of the famland owners had small land holding and were facing loss in farming as the prices of their products like sugarcane,wheat and cotton were very low and they were even unable to get what they spent on the sowing of crops and purchasing fertilizers and pesticides.However in recent years educated farmers or their young educated sons are turning the farming into vegetable tunnel farming and they had recently sown off-season vegetables like Kossa(Kaddu), Brinjal(Baingan),Tomato,Bitter Goud(karela) and Sweet Pepper(Shimla mirch)and earning good profit.One of the farmers who has sown Koss
a(Kaddu) vegetable's crop in his small tunnel farm,Naeem Akhtar of chak 256 GB Philour told that normally Kossa vegetable's crop gives production in April but here he and some other farmers have sown it in tunnels as off-season crop to earn some extra profit than from normal season.He said the the Kossa plants will give production in end of current month or in the beginning of February.
